Kirsten Dunst
Kirsten Caroline Dunst was born April 30, 1982 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, to Klaus and Inez Dunst. Her parents are separated; her father, Klaus Dunst, a German medical services executive, remained in New Jersey. Her mother, Inez Dunst, a Swedish former art gallery owner, moved to California with her children. Kirsten has a younger brother. She graduated from Notre Dame High School, a private Catholic high school, in Sherman Oaks, California in 2000.
Dunst began acting at the age of three in television commercials. She moved to the big screen in 1989 in the film New York Stories. Soon after, she landed a small part in The Bonfire of the Vanities. Her breakthrough role came in Interview with the Vampire, a 1994 film based on Anne Rice's novel of the same name. It starred Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, and Christian Slater. The movie was somewhat controversial because of a scene in which Dunst, then aged eleven, kissed Brad Pitt, who was twenty-nine. Her most well-known performances to date have been in Jumanji, The Virgin Suicides, Bring It On, Little Women, Mona Lisa Smile, Elizabeth Town, and as Mary Jane Watson in Spider Man and Spider Man 2. She has had roles in over thirty-eight moves to date; a large number of them were box-office and critical successes.
Kirsten is a very in-demand actress and continues taking more mature roles with each subsequent film. While she does not have one steady guy she has been seen with several interesting bachelors, including her Spider Man co-star Tobey Maguire, Jake Gyllenhaal and Ben Foster. She has said that she is not quite ready to settle down.
